Teaching Plan

I taught about climate change and biodiversity. Each class was 80 minutes without a break. I taught XI bilingual class. Here is the one of the teacing plan that I made during my teaching practice.

Teaching Practice

Here is the report on the teaching practice.　At the beginning, I was really worried about language since English is not mother language for both of me and Indonesian. Also, I worried about what I teach because the class that I taught didn’t have biology classes in general. However, my cooperate teacher helps me so much. Also, the students were very cooperative and actively participated in the activities, which was greatly appreciated.　Below are the procedures of how I conducted the class.

１．Introduction

To review previous classes and to introduce that day's class, I conducted some activities such as telephone game. In this game, I told keywords such as "green house effect" to the person next to me. Once the term has been told to the next person, they will whisper it to the person next to them. And we see how much it changes by the game's end.

Teaching

As I mentioned before, I taught global warming and biodiversity during this program, In the class I began by asking students how much they knew about the topic. I made an effort to use plenty of visuals such as diagrams and photographs to aid comprehension. Furthermore, rather than simply imparting knowledge, I encouraged students to consider issues as personal concerns by teaching them about the situation in Indonesia. Additionally, I made time to think about what actions they could take to contribute to solving these challenges.

Acitivitiy and Quiz

Since the class was 80 minutes long, my cooperate teacher advised to do some activities and quizzes in the lessons. So, I conducted activities and quizzes in each class. In addition to individual quizzes, I formed groups of about four people and had them research biodiversity hotspots or engage in group quiz competitions. It was glas students enjoyed these session.
